Reviewing Women's Literature from a Feminist Perspective.

We will consider all subgenres of speculative fiction (and related criticism), regardless of author or medium, including self-published work. We are especially interested in seeing more books by and about women, people of color, LGBTQIA, disabled people, people with nonwestern languages and religions, and other under-represented groups.

The Lesbian Review is the foremost site to get your lesbian fiction recommendations.

SCBR provides a review venue for small/independent presses, university and regional presses, and for women authors whose books may not be reviewed elsewhere. We welcome books written by women, for women, with an emphasis on women's lives, in over a dozen categories. We review new books, reissues, and print-on-demand books. We do not usually review books published more than two years before the current date, except for classics in women's literature, which are always timely.

I review books written by women – old and new, literary and commercial, fiction and non-fiction with the occasional YA title – and I interview women writers. My preferences lean towards literary fiction although I try and read as broadly as possible. I’m particularly concerned with covering translated fiction, working class fiction, books by women of colour and women who identify as LGBT.
