Women & Books wants to be the place where women can present their ideas, critiques, research, and opinions about women authors and their literary work. This includes personal stories of dealing with gender bias—both positive and negative stories—thought pieces on women authors and writing and the publishing industry; pieces on authors, publishers, organizations, publications, etc. Length: 500 to 5000 words.
We also welcome book reviews that are more than a summary of the plot and whether you like it or not. We want a thoughtful critique of the writing, the themes, etc. The only criteria is that the book must be by a woman author. It can be a centuries old lost classic or newly published. Length: 500 to 2500 words. Reprints are welcome as long as you own the rights. If you have any questions about submitting a piece, just drop us a line to [email protected]. If you have a completed piece, just send it using the form below. We look forward to reading and sharing your work. |
